• Send it after every job, not only the ones that went well. Skipping the bad ones leaves you an average that means nothing.
• Same day, by SMS or a QR on the invoice. A week later people remember only the price.
• Don't hand it over in person. The mechanic standing there changes the answer.
• After about 20 answers you can see whether it is the workshop or the front desk.
