How to get good answers

  • Ask which part of town people live in. A town-wide average hides the neighbourhood with nothing at all.
  • Put it on paper as well as online, and leave copies where people already go. Families with small children and older residents rarely see a link.
  • The council knows its own list of facilities. Only residents can tell you which ones nobody uses and why.
  • Publish the ranking before the decision. A survey that appears after the plan is agreed reads as a formality, because it is one.
