FLINTA Perspectives Needed: Your Experiences as a FLINTA* Person in the Music/DJ Industry

Dear Sir or Madam, please take a few minutes of your time to complete the following questionnaire.

Dear FLINTA* community,

As part of my research for a photo project, I am asking you to share your personal experiences of discrimination, sexualization and objectification in the music and DJ industry. This survey aims to highlight the challenges and injustices that FLINTA* Persons in this industry face on a daily basis.

Both my own experiences, conversations with friends and FLINTA* DJ colleagues, and studies have shown that gender discrimination and sexualization are pervasive issues in the music industry. For example, the Annenberg Inclusion Initiative found significant underrepresentation and sexist treatment of FLINTA* Persons. The International Women's Day report also highlighted that almost half of female musicians (48%) have been sexually harassed. These statistics highlight the need for an open conversation about these ongoing problems.

Beyond the numbers, it's your experiences that can really shed light on the reality of working in the music and DJ scene. By sharing your story, you are helping to raise awareness and advocate for a more inclusive and respectful environment for all.

Thank you for taking the time to participate. - The survey is of course anonymous!

Share your Experiences

Sharing experiences of discrimination, sexualization, and objectification can be challenging and may bring up traumatic memories. Please take the time you need answering the questions, and of course only share as much detail as you feel comfortable with. Your well-being is important, and it is entirely up to you how much you choose to disclose. Your participation is valuable, but your mental health and comfort come first.
Dear FLINTA* community,
