Imagine the following scenario: A talented violinist has a rare disease, but can be kept alive by the specific properties that only you have in your blood. You have the choice to either help the violinist and thus being bound to this person, via tubes and such, for a year and risking a very small chance at death for you, but likely saving the life of the violinist after a year of transfusion or to not help the violinist, causing their death, but you will live your life normally and will not risk the very slight chance at dying yourself.
