Come commemorate the 250th anniversary of American independence through an interactive program focused on US history, the importance of freedom and independence, democracy, and Czech-American relations.
The event will take place on June 10, 2026 from 17:00 to 20:00 at the American Center in Prague, Tržiště 366/13, 118 00 Malá Strana.

Panel Discussion: 250 Years of American Independence: Legacy and Impact
The panel discussion will focus on the importance of American independence after 250 years, its historical legacy, and its impact on contemporary democracy, freedom, and transatlantic relations. There will also be time for questions and answers.

AmKon - Interactive Simulation: Boston Tea Party
The participants of the simulation will be transported to a period of growing tension between the American colonies and the British Crown. In the roles of patriots, loyalists or neutral actors, they will act, make decisions and influence the development of events leading up to the Boston Tea Party.

Trivia quiz
During the event, participants will be able to participate in a trivia quiz focused on U.S. history, American independence, democracy, freedom and Czech-American relations.

Accompanying program throughout the event
During the entire afternoon, participants will be able to visit a photo booth, taste American snacks and popcorn or participate in thematic activities focused on the issue of freedom and independence. The program will also include writing letters about what independence means to the participants and what vision of independence they imagine for the future. There will also be a canvas on which visitors can write what freedom and independence mean to them.
