On 5 July 2021, the European Commission officially launched the Code of Conduct on Responsible Food Business and Marketing Practices (the Code), setting out 7 major aspirational objectives towards truly sustainable food systems.
Euroglaces, having signed up to the Code via FoodDrinkEurope, mainly committed to promote the Code to ice cream companies like yours, and encouraging them to help achieve the Code's objectives on a voluntary basis.
To help you with this, Euroglaces launched an Action Plan in 2023 focusing on 3 objectives that are considered highly relevant for the ice cream sector:
• Healthy, balanced and sustainable food for all European consumers
• An optimized circular and resource-efficient food chain in Europe
• Sustainable sourcing in the food supply chain
The Action Plan also contains numerous good practices examples that can inspire your company to set its own concrete objectives.
