PURPOSE OF STUDY

You are being asked to take part in a research study. Before you decide to participate in this study, it is important that you understand why the research is being done and what it will involve. Please read the following information carefully. Please ask the researcher if there is anything that is not clear or if you need more information.

This study aims to take a closer look at the relationship between college GPA and physical exercise among students. We want to find out how regular physical activity might affect academic performance and explore the various benefits that staying active can bring. Additionally, the research will focus on some common misconceptions in existing studies on this topic. By examining the evidence from various sources, we hope to clarify how exercise can influence a student's success in school. Ultimately, this study aims to offer helpful insights that can encourage students to consider both their physical health and academic goals, fostering a more balanced approach to their college experience.

 STUDY PROCEDURES

Step 1: Participants read and agree to informed consent

Step 2: Participants will complete 8 question survey

Survey should take no longer than 5 minutes for participants to complete

There are no foreseeable risks involved with this study, however some of the survey questions may make participant uncomfortable.

There are no direct benefits to the participants. However, we hope that we gather more information about the relationship between college GPA and physical activity.

CONFIDENTIALITY

Your responses to this survey will be anonymous. Every effort will be made by the researcher to preserve your confidentiality including the following:

·     Assigning code names/numbers for participants that will be used on all research notes and documents

·     Keeping notes, interview transcriptions, and any other identifying participant information in a locked file cabinet in the personal possession of the researcher.

·     Online survey platform is password protected and only the researcher will have access

·     When results are compiled, identifying information will be separated from answers

Participant data will be kept confidential except in cases where the researcher is legally obligated to report specific incidents. These incidents include, but may not be limited to, incidents of abuse and suicide risk.

After you sign the consent form, you are still free to withdraw at any time and without giving a reason. Withdrawing from this study will not affect the relationship you have, if any, with the researcher. If you withdraw from the study before data collection is completed, your data will be returned to you or destroyed.
