We as staff representatives have formed a Restaurant Union (Husforening) in Mat & Drikke Gruppen. We have a local collective agreement with Mat & Drikke Gruppen, where our role as staff representatives is to represent our members within our union, and advocate for the needs and interests of our members in matters affecting employee’s salary, rights and working conditions. We have been elected by employees to serve in this capacity. We believe internal representation will serve you better than an external party, because we work along side you and thus understand your situation and concerns better.
Each restaurant also has local representatives, known as trustees. Their role is to ensure that important information is communicated to the staff representatives on behalf of the employees in the specific restaurant/ department. You can find a list of who serves as the current staff representatives and trustees on the first page in Planday.
Membership requirements
To be a member, or continue your memebership you must:
· Have a contract with one of the restaurants in Mat & Drikke Gruppen.
· Be paid hourly (not on a fixed monthly salary).
· Not be a member of another external union (as you can only be a member of one union at a time).
· There is no cost to being a member of the Restaurant Union.
As an employee you are automatically a member of the Restaurant Union. If you continue this survey and choose “YES”, you will become a member with an active voice, allowing you to influence the topics that the staff representatives bring forward in the negotiations. If you do not wish to become or remain a member, simply select “NO”.
In addition to collective negotiations, you are also free to negotiate your salary and conditions individually. If you choose to do so, we can act as mediators whenever needed. Beyond negotiations, we are also here to support employees in resolving conflicts or simply as a point of contact for any work-related concerns.
If you have any questions or need assistance, please feel free to reach out to us—either in person, through Planday, or by phone. Our contact information is available in Planday.
Best regards,
The Staff Representatives
Note: The Head of HR will also have access to the membership list, as the Restaurant Union does not have a digital tool for this. HR is bound by confidentiality towards all employees in the company, and your membership will therefore only be known to the staff representatives.
