Due to the length of this survey, it has been divided into three parts that can be filled in separately. Try to fill in the questions as honestly and accurately as you can.

The survey mainly consists of moments/fragments for which the question is "On a scale of 1 through 10, how much did these moments make you feel the following:"

This final question consists of quite a few moments/fragments for which the question is "On a scale of 1 through 10, how much did these moments make you feel the following:" Occasionally there has been a moment/fragment that was just slightly too long to fit, so it has been split into two rows. These are marked with a [1] and [2] at the start. Please put the same numbers in both rows for these moments/fragments. The question has been split onto pieces only so that you will not have to scroll up to see the different emotions, but it is the same question each time. There are 7 groups of 5 moments and one of two moments in total, and they probably get more emotional towards the end. If you truly do not know what to answer just answer “000” (thee zero's).

For each answer, try to remember how you felt the first time you read the fragment in question. If you cannot recall, then simply answer according to how they make you feel now upon reading them. You all know, of course, that Hogwarts was founded over a thousand years ago, (…) They built this castle together, far from prying Muggle eyes, for it was an age when magic was feared by common people, and witches and wizards suffered much persecution.

“yeh’ll get your first sight o’ Hogwarts in a sec,” Hagrid called over his shoulder, “jus’ round this bend here” There was a loud “Oooooh!” The narrow path had opened onto the edge of a great black lake. Perched atop a high mountain on the other side, its windows sparkling in the starry sky, was a vast castle with many turrets and towers.

They weren’t in a room, as he had supposed. They were in a corridor. The forbidden corridor on the third floor. And now they knew why it was forbidden.

[1] They trudged up the misty field between long rows of tents. Most looked almost ordinary; their owners had clearly tried to make them as Muggle-like as possible, but had slipped up by adding chimneys, o bellpulls, or weather vanes.

[2] However, here and there was a tent so obviously magical that Harry could hardly be surprised that Mr. Roberts was getting suspicious. Halfway up the field stood an extravagant confection of striped silk like a miniature palace, with several live peacocks tethered at the entrance

Harry saw little disturbances in the surrounding air: It was as if Hermione had cast a heat haze upon their clearing.“Salvio Hexia… Protego Totalem… Repello Muggletum… Muffliato… Could you get out the tent, Harry…”“Tent?’’“In the bag!”

Trotting around talking about Bludgers and Quaffles at the top of his voice, not a worry about anti-Muggle security.

“Who’d you reckon they are?” he said. “They don’t go to Hogwarts, do they?”“’Spect they go to some foreign school,” said Ron “I know there are others. Never met anyone who went to one, though. Bill had a penfriend at a school in Brazil…

Charm Your Own Cheese, Enchantment and One Minute Feasts, It’s magic! And unless Harry’s ears were deceiving him, the old radio on the sink had just announced that coming up was “witching hour, with the popular singing sorceress, Celestina Warbeck”

Mrs. Weasley was clattering around, cooking breakfast a little haphazardly, throwing dirty looks around at her sons as she threw sausages into the frying pan.

He pulled out his wand and moved forward between the serpentine columns. Every careful footstep echoed loudly off the shadowy walls. He kept his eyes narrowed, ready to clamp them shut at the smallest sign of movement. The hollow eye sockets of the stone snakes seemed to be following him. More than once, with a jolt of the stomach, he thought he saw one stir.

So harry set off into the heart of the forest with Malfoy and Fang. They walked for nearly half an hour, deeper and deeper into the forest, until the path became almost impossible to follow because the trees were so thick.

A cold male voice rang across the courtroom. “you’re late.”“Sorry,” said Harry nervously. “I-I didn’t know the time had changed.”“That is not the Wizengamot’s fault,” said the voice “An owl was sent to you this morning. Take your seat.”

“So you’ll be thee red currant, Minister”“Thank you, Rosmerta, m’dear,” said Fudge’s voice, “Lovely to see you again, I must say. Have one yourself, won’t you? Come and join us…”

[1] He stretched his right hand out in front of him – the hand with the missing finger. He gripped the dagger very tightly in his left hand and swung it upward.Harry realised what Wormtail was about to do about a second before it happened – he closed his eyes as tightly as he could, but he could not block out the scream that pierced the night,

[2] that went through Harry as though he had been stabbed with the dagger too. He heard something fall to the ground, heard Wormtail’s anguished panting, then a sickening splash as something was dropped into the cauldron.

Squinting down, struggling hopelessly at the ropes binding him, he saw the shining silver dagger shaking in Wormtail’s remaining hand. He felt its point penetrate the crook of his right arm and blood seeping down the sleeve of his torn robes.

“(…) But what happened to you, Remus? Where is George?”“He lost an ear,” said Lupin.“Lost an - ?” repeated Hermione in a high voice.(….) “I can’t make it grow back, not when it’s been removed by Dark Magic.”

“Yes, yes, she’s had the baby!” Shouted Lupin. All around the table came cries of delight, sighs of relief: Hermione and Fleur both squealed, “Congratulations” and Ron said “Blimey, a baby” as if he had never heard of such a thing before. Yes – yes – a boy,” said Lupin again, who seemed dazed by his own happiness.

But then, through the mist in front of him, he saw, with an icy surge of terror, the dark outline of a man, tall and skeletally thin, rising slowly from the cauldron.

[1] He looked back at the parchment, placed the quill upon it once more, wrote I must not tell lies, and felt the searing pain on the back of his hand for a second time; once again the words had been cut into his skin, once again they healed over seconds later.

[2] And on it went. Again and again Harry wrote the words on the parchment in what he soon came to realise was not ink, but his own blood. And again and again the words were cut into the back of his hand, healed, and then reappeared the next time he set quill to parchment.

(…) or puking pastilles or -““Fainting Fancies?” Harry suggested quietly.One by one, as though hit over the heads with invisible mallets, the first years were slumping unconscious in their seats; some slid right onto the floor, others merely hung over the arms of their chairs, their tongues lulling out. Death Eaters had penetrated Hogwarts. Fred and Percy had just backed into view, both of them duelling masked and hooded men.Harry, Ron, and Hermione ran forward to help: Jets of light flew in every direction and the man duelling Percy backed off, fast: Then his hood slipped and they saw a high forehead and streaked hair -

They simply beamed as Harry was borne towards the stands, where Dumbledore stood waiting with the enormous Quidditch Cup.If only there had been a dementor around… As a sobbing Wood passed Harry the Cup, as he lifted it into the air, Harry felt he could have produced the world’s best Patronus.

[1] “Now then,” said Slughorn, returning to the front of the class and inflating his already bulging chest so that the buttons on his waistcoat threatened to burst off, “I’ve prepared a few potions for you to have a look at, just out of interest, you know.

[2] These are the kind of thing you ought to be able to make after completing your N.E.W.T’s. You ought to have heard of ‘em, even if you haven’t made ‘em yet. Anyone tell me what this one is?”

Nice play by the Gryffindor beater, anyway, and Johnson is back in possession of the Quaffle, a clear field ahead and off she goes – she’s really flying – dodges a speeding Bludger – the goalposts are ahead – come on, now, Angelina – Keeper Bletchley dives, misses – GRYFFINDORS SCORE!

“That will do!” shrieked Madam Hooch, zooming between them. “Penalty shot to Gryffindor for an unprovoked attack on their Chaser! Penalty shot to Slytherin for deliberate damage to their Chaser.

On a scale of 1 through 10, how much did these fragments/moments make you feel the following:

Harry lay there, not saying a word. They had lost… for the first time ever, he had lost a Quidditch match.

[1] “Did you put your name into the Goblet of Fire, Harry?” he asked calmly.“No,” said Harry. He was very aware of everybody watching him closely. Snape made a soft noise of impatient disbelief in the shadows.“Did you ask an older student to put it into the Goblet of Fire for you?”

[2] said Professor Dumbledore, ignoring Snape. “NO,” said Harry vehemently.“Ah, but of course ‘e is lying!” cried Madame Maxime. Snape was now shaking his head, his lip curling.

[1] “LOOK!” he bellowed, striding over to Hermione’s table. “LOOK!” he yelled, shaking the sheets in her face.“Ron, what - ?” “SCABBERS! LOOK! SCABBERS!”Hermione was leaning away from Ron, looking utterly bewildered. Harry looked down at the sheet Ron was holding. There was something red on it. Something that looked horribly like – “ BLOOD”

[2] Ron yelled into the stunned silence. “HE’S GONE! AND YOU KNOW WHAT WAS ON THE FLOOR?”“N-no,” said Hermione in a trembling voice. Ron threw something onto Hermione’s rune translation. Hermione and Harry leaned forward. Lying on top of the weird, spiky shapes were several long, ginger cat hairs.

[1] Ron was enraged that Hermione had never taken Crookshanks’s attempts to eat Scabbers seriously, hadn’t bothered to keep a close enough watch on him, and was still trying to pretend that Crookshanks was innocent by suggesting that Ron look for Scabbers under all the boys’ beds. Hermione, meanwhile,

[2] maintained fiercely that Ron had no proof that Crookshanks had eaten Scabbers, that the ginger hairs might have been there since Christmas, and that Ron had been prejudiced against her cat ever since Crookshanks had landed on Ron’s head in the Magical Menagerie.

Harry groped for the doorknob – between filch and death, he’d take Filch.They fell backward – Harry slammed the door shut, and they ran, they almost flew, back down the corridor. Filch must have hurried off to look for them somewhere else, because they didn’t see him anywhere, but they hardly cared

Harry played with chessmen Seamus Finnigan had lent him, and they didn’t trust him at all. He wasn’t a very good player yet

She was deep in talk with Viktor Krum and hardly seemed to notice what she was eating. It occurred to Harry that he had never actually heard Krum speak before, but he was certainly talking now, and very enthusiastically too at that.

Something was shining on the wall ahead. They approached slowly, squinting through the darkness. Foot-high words had been daubed on the wall between two windows, shimmering in the light cast by the flaming torches. THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS HAS BEENOPENED. ENEMIES OF THE HEIR, BEWARE

The basilisk lunged again, and this time its aim was true – Harry threw his whole weight behind the sword and drove it to the hilt into the roof of the serpents mouth

[1] The bang was like a cannon blast, and the golden flames that had erupted between them, at the dead centre of the circle they had been treading, marked the point where the spells collided. Harry saw Voldemort’s green jet meet his own spell, saw the Elder Wand fly high, dark

[2] against the ceiling like the head of Nagini, spinning through the air toward the master it would not kill, who had come to take full possession of it at last. (….) Voldemort was dead, killed by his own rebounding curse

Happiness would come, Harry thought, but at the moment it was muffled by exhaustion, and the pain of losing Fred and Lupin and Tonks pierced him like a physical wound every few steps. Most of all he felt the most stupendous relief, and a longing to sleep. But first he owed an explanation to Ron and Hermione, who had stuck with him for so long, and who deserved the truth.

[1] Harry didn’t know whether the best bit was Hermione running towards him, screaming “You solved it! You solved it!” or Justin hurrying over from the Hufflepuff table to wring his hand and apologise endlessly for suspecting him , or

[2] Hagrid turning up at half past three, cuffing Harry and Ron so hard on the shoulders that they were knocked into their plates or trifle, or Ron’s four hundred points for Gryffindor securing the House Cup for the second year running
