We are four students of the tourism management study at Breda University of applied sciences. We have to do research for our class Geopolitics. This research is to get an understanding of tourist behavior when going on a holiday. 

We have to do research in the form of this Survey and we would like for you to answer our questions about your travel behavior.

This is a brief description of situations in Sri Lanka that caused any unrest in the country. Please read this to get more knowledge to answer the following questions.


On the 21st of April, 2019 there has been a series of bombings at four hotels and three churches in Sri Lanka. Because of these attacks, a lot of Dutch tourists who were in the country with a travel company were flown back because it was too unsafe for them to stay in the country. Since these attacks, the country has been put on code yellow for the Netherlands as a safety regulation. 


On the 11th of May, 2022, protests and demonstrations began in Sri Lanka due to shortages of fuel, medicines and food. After 3 months, these protests and demonstrations reached a violent climax with dozens of citizens injured. Protesters go to the president's official residence and the president's house as they blame him for the poor state of the country.
