Dear all,
Hiroe-sensei and I have discussed the idea of organizing a regular reading group focused on topics relevant to our PhD journey. The goal is to explore key theoretical approaches and concepts that are of shared interest.
The group could meet once a week and discuss specific articles or books that we find relevant. We can decide together whether to focus on foundational works (e.g., Bourdieu), specific theoretical approaches (e.g., Practice Theory), or cutting-edge research (e.g., post-growth theory), or all of them. The aim is to develop a shared understanding of these theoretical approaches while supporting each other in exploring how these concepts apply to our respective research areas.
To make the reading group as beneficial as possible, it would be great to identify overlaps in our research interests and select books or articles that are relevant to the entire group. My proposal is to meet on Friday mornings (somewhere between 9:00–12:00) before the Friday seminars.
If you're interested, please fill out this short survey to share your preferences on topics, readings, and scheduling.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
Best,
Manon
