Gender perspective in teaching. This involves reviewing androcentric biases and questioning the gender assumptions and gender stereotypes that are often present in different disciplines. It also entails including the knowledge produced by women scientists and experts, which is often invisible, as well as the critical perspectives that reveal androcentric conceptualizations. Any analysis of sex and/or gender that uses a gender perspective must include an analysis that unearths the social and cultural causes and mechanisms that support gender inequalities.

Respect for diversity. This refers to the equal treatment and non-discrimination of all people, regardless of their ethnic, cultural and religious origin, gender, sexual orientation, family, age, socio-economic and functional condition, among others. The aim is to shatter current norms and hierarchies and to encourage plurality and inclusion. In essence, diversity in higher education involves fostering an environment where all people, whatever their origin and condition, feel welcomed, respected and able to contribute to the academic and social fabric of the institution.
