Survio's AI Assistant lets you create a fully structured survey simply by chatting. Instead of building questions one by one, you describe your survey goal in plain language and the AI generates a complete questionnaire — including a welcome page, relevant question types, and logical structure. You can then refine the survey through follow-up instructions before generating the final result. Also, you can copy-paste already created draft of your survey from document!
Step-by-step guide
Step 1: Start creating a new survey
From your Survio dashboard, click the + Create a survey button.
Step 2: Select the "With AI" option
In the survey creation dialog, you will see three options: From scratch, From template, and With AI. Select With AI.
Step 3: Describe your survey
The AI Assistant greets you and asks you to describe the kind of survey you need. You can either pick one of the suggested categories (Customer Experience, Employee Experience, Leadership & Organization, Marketing Research, Sales & Business) or type your own description directly into the chat.
Be as specific as you like. For example, you can write:
"I need to create a customer feedback survey after the customer receives the ordered good. It shall include: 3 questions about the shopping experience, 3 questions about delivery experience, 2 questions about overall satisfaction with our company, end the survey with the NPS and last question to be open text answer — what would you recommend to improve in our services."
The more detail you provide, the better the result.
Step 4: Review the generated survey
The AI generates a complete survey based on your description. It includes a welcome page with a title and introduction text, followed by all the questions with appropriate question types — star ratings, multiple choice, NPS scale, open text, and more.
Step 5: Refine or adjust your survey
Once the survey is generated, the AI asks "What would you like to do next?" and offers quick options:
Add more questions
Make it shorter
Add demographics
Add NPS question
You can pick one of these or type your own instruction. For example, you can ask to add a specific question, reorder items, or change the wording — all through the chat.
Step 7: Generate the survey
When you are happy with the result, click the Generate survey button. Survio creates the full survey and opens it in the survey editor, where you can further customize the design, settings, and question details.
The Survey is generated and you are in the Survey builder. Each question AI asistent created can be changed, moved or deleted. Also, you can apply the visual templated or create your very own.
Tips for best results
Be specific — mention the number of questions, topics, and question types you want.
Iterate — you don't need to get it right on the first try. Ask the AI to add, remove, or modify questions.
Use the quick actions — the suggested buttons (Add demographics, Make it shorter, etc.) are shortcuts for common adjustments.
Fine-tune in the editor — after generating, use the full survey editor to adjust design, add logic, or tweak individual questions.
