Question type detail

A text answer question lets respondents write their own answer in an open field. It’s used to collect qualitative feedback, comments, or explanations.

As every question type, can be set as mandatory or optional.

How to use it

• Write a short, open-ended question.

• Keep instructions simple to encourage honest responses.

• You can limit character count if necessary.

When to use it

• “What did you like most about our service?”

• “How can we improve your experience?”

• “Any other comments or suggestions?”

How to evaluate

Text answers are evaluated using text analysis. You can review responses individually or categorize them by theme. Look for repeating words, phrases, or sentiment trends to identify key insights. Word clouds and qualitative reports are often used to summarize text answers visually.

Each question type has various options of graph interpretation in Survio analytics. Besides summary statistics via graphs, individual responses can be downloaded from the platform for further analysis.
