After you’ve created your survey, it’s time to collect responses.
Please note that Survio cannot provide respondents for you, nor conduct surveys on your behalf—you need to distribute the survey to get responses. Additionally, consider how the chosen distribution method might impact respondent anonymity and the kind of data collected, especially if you plan to include identifying questions.
Note: We strongly recommend that you test your survey before distribution to ensure it works correctly and is free of errors.
Click either Get Responses or Share in the survey builder. 2. Then, select the “Copy link” option to generate and copy the direct survey URL. This URL can then be shared with respondents through email, social media, or any other communication method of your choice.

Best Practices for Respondent Identification
Keep It Optional: If anonymity is important to your respondents, ensure that identifying questions are optional rather than mandatory.
State Your Purpose: Clearly explain why you are collecting identifying information and how it will be used to maintain transparency and build trust.
Test Before Sharing: Before distributing the survey link, test it to ensure all fields and questions function correctly and serve your data collection needs.- Use Appropriate Distribution Methods: If maintaining respondent anonymity is important, distribute surveys using direct links and avoid methods like email invitations that link responses to email addresses.
Avoid Identifying Questions: Do not include questions asking for personal details if anonymity must be preserved.
You can personalise the survey URL by changing its identifier: https://www.survio.com/survey/d/U4I9A4D1S9W6N2I6M could become https://www.survio.com/survey/d/NPS-may-24.
Anonymity in Survio Surveys
Understanding how anonymity works is essential when designing and distributing surveys. Survio provides anonymity by default in direct link distributions but also offers options for linking responses if needed.
A note on identifying your respondents Survio surveys are designed with anonymity in mind, and all responses are anonymous by default unless identifying questions are added.
When distributing surveys via email invitations, respondents' email addresses are automatically linked to their responses, making this method unsuitable if complete anonymity is required.
Surveys shared using direct links remain anonymous as long as no identifying questions (e.g., names, email addresses) are included.
To track responses while respecting privacy, consider using non-identifiable ways such as unique codes or optional identifying questions.
Will my survey, its URL address or invitation campaign expire?
No. Unless you disable the survey or set a deadline. Otherwise the survey remains open for responses. After collecting enough answers, go to the Results section to analyze them.
